Our products cover a wide range of customers’ business areas from industrial products to food related products.
Our achievements over the years have accumulated extensive specialist knowledge and know-how. Our business principle is to support our customers from design and development to follow-up after products are delivered through a close coordination among sales, technology, and production sections. This enables us to accurately understand requirements and to rapidly respond by offering the most-suitable and feasible solutions based on our deep understanding of both customers and markets.

Approach to environmental problems

Kobayashi has long been approaching to environmental issues energetically as a mission of a company dealing in petrochemical products. As major examples, aiming for both reduction of loads in materials and the development of alternative materials, development work that we began in the 1980s has resulted in the creation of OPALAY sheeting, developed jointly with Idemitsu Petrochemical Co., Ltd.(Present Idemitsu Kosan Co., Ltd.) with the aim of saving natural resources and eliminating the problems involved in incineration disposal, and plastisol, a plastic free of harmful environmental hormones. At the same time, we have been promoting the recycling of PET bottles at our related companies. Today, we are also promoting the development of products such as biodegradable plastics and plant-based materials using starch as a raw material.
We will continue to pursue effective utilization of plastics, and promote the approaches including the development of alternative products.

Overseas business

Kobayashi has been working on overseas businesses energetically centering on East Asia to supply our customers with products having a great QCD (quality, cost, and delivery) balance. Our operational bases in Hong Kong and Shanghai have contributed to the establishment of networks for production, molding processing, and sales, thus enabling us to supply Japanese and Western companies which have expanded their businesses to China with high-quality products rapidly at low cost.
In the future, we will strengthen marketing and sales activities to Chinese companies, while promoting more flexible procurement of materials mainly from China. In addition, we will promote global business development by planning business development to various countries besides China.
